LETICHETTANERA

CALYPSOS®

Viogner

Viogner CALYPSOS®

My personal oenological toy, with immediate impact and impulse (Franco Morando). 100% Viognier, with the caressing quality that distinguishes it in years of absolute extractive wealth, characterised by acidity and structure, closely accompanied by a longevity you won't find in traditional semi-aromatic grape varieties.
After countless tastings, there is an unspoilt evolving scent of honey, carnation, and very gently cooked, over-ripened berry jams. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks and are followed by ageing in tonneaux - grande reserve - made exclusively with French oak from the Allier region, used for the second and third times. The staves of wood are selected and curved using steam, because the wood has to be almost imperceptible, leaving unspoiled the "live fruit viscose with fruitiness".

This is a grape variety we know well at Montalbera, but which we wanted, with "LETICHETTANERA", to evolve in terms of quality, ageing it briefly in wood, paying more attention to work in the vineyard and using more precise technology directly in the cellar, with slower and more continuous soft pressing. The resulting wine is absolutely unforgettable, thanks to its expressive quality in acidity, elegance and aromaticity. A balance of three perfectly connected scents which take it to the heights of the finest Italian production of white wine.
