Barbaresco D.o.c.g.



In recent years the Enrico Riccardo Morando Family has showed also a strong interest in the great Nebbiolo grape of Langa. FOUR hectares for the production of Barbaresco DOCG locate Neive – Region GALLINA are the latest investments, in addition to the continuous enhancement of the Monferrato native grape in the estate of Castagnole Monferrato. The epithet LINTUITO purely derives by the intuition that the family has had to invest in a terroir of excellence such as the Barbaresco appellation which is much linked to the first lineage. In fact, the “village” Neive where the Podere GALLINA is situated, close by Barbaresco, has been the place where Cavaliere Enrico Riccardo Morando has begun his pioneering and entrepreneurial career.

The limestone and clay-rich soils, obsessive care in the vineyard, wisely selected woods enhance a single grape variety for elegance and pleasantness that “already” masters#winemakers have brought to excellence in the past.

With the label Barbaresco LINTUITO, Montalbera offers completely the best quality Piedmontese appellations.

Area of production:
Barbaresco and Neive – Podere Gallina.

Vine training system:
low trained guyot system with 7 buds on the fruiting cane, each planted with over 4800 plants per hectare, altitude 350 m above sea level.

Grape variety:
100% Nebbiolo in pureness.

traditional red with maceration for 15-18 days in contact with skins. Pumping over and punching down in order to extract the color and the wine structure.

aged for 26 months of which over than 14 months in traditional wooden casks of 60 hl and in barriques form French Allièr. Subsequently bottle fining for over 10 months.

bright garnet-red and characteristic with light orange reflections after ageing.

ethereal and intense with tobacco, spicies and dry figues scents. After the oxigenation gives dry fruits and jams sensations.

elegant, austere, full-bodied and pleasant with cinchona roots and rhubarb.
