The best Italian wines selected by Gambero Rosso will be showcased during the 19th edition of Vinexpo Bordeaux.
Gambero Rosso celebrates 30 years of activities all around the world at Vinexpo Bordeaux 2017. The Tre Bicchieri Tasting event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20. The walk-around tasting will take place at 10am in the elegant Lounge 2: more than 150 awarded wines of Vini d’Italia 2017 will be showcased for the very first time in France.
No other Italian wine event has such a restrictive selection filter, a guarantee of absolute quality.
Gambero Rosso and Vinexpo experienced a fruitful partnership at Vinexpo Hong Kong 2016 and Vinexpo Tokyo 2016, and the joint venture goes on in Bordeaux with two events beside the Tre Bicchieri Tasting.
The first masterclass is scheduled on June 19 from 9:30am at Lab 3 and will focus on the Special Awards Tasting, where the editors in chief of Vini d’Italia will present to a selected public of professionals 9 wines and 9 wineries which represent the spirit of this edition of the Guide, from the Red, White, Sweet and Sparling Wines of the Year, to the Winery of the Year, the Up and Coming Winery etc. etc.
The second masterclass will take place on June 19 from 15:30 at Lab 3 featuring a very special cuvée of Franciacorta. Meraviglioso is a true masterpiece Franciacorta cuvée created by Bellavista, the Winery of the Year 2017 according to Gambero Rosso. It’s a unique wine, a cuvée created by Vittorio Moretti, owner of Bellavista, and Mattia Vezzola, Bellavista chef de cave. It’s a magic blend of six vintages of Franciacorta Riserva Vittorio Moretti spanning from 1984 to 2002, which matured 14 years in the cellar before being disgorged. Produced in 1200 magnum, is a feast of senses. Vittorio Moretti, Mattia Vezzola and Marco Sabellico will uncork the bottle and reveal the secret of Meraviglioso throught the tasting of some of the vintage cuvées involved.
